TernaID Terms of Service

 1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TernaID (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

 2. About TernaID

TernaID is a digital identity wallet that allows users to securely generate cryptographic keys, share identification with trusted partners, and store verification history - all under the user's control.

Users may also onboard themselves by presenting a digital version of their government-issued ID through supported mobile wallets such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

 3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Only use the App for lawful purposes

  • Maintain control over your device and credentials (PIN, biometrics, private key)

  • Not share your private key or use the App for impersonation or fraud

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
     

If you choose to onboard using Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, you consent to the collection and use of your name, date of birth, document number, and related metadata. This information is used solely to verify your identity and enable secure usage of the TernaID platform.

5. Key Management and Data Loss

TernaID is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly process data from children.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with third-party partners (e.g., identity verifiers, government agencies) and platform services (e.g., Apple Wallet, Google Wallet). TernaID is not responsible for third-party content, decisions, or service availability.
When using these services to submit identity information, you do so under the terms and conditions of the respective provider.

7. App Availability and Updates

We do not guarantee that the App will always be available or error-free. We may update or discontinue the App (temporarily or permanently) at any time, without notice.

8. Security

We use end-to-end encryption, TLS 1.3, certificate pinning, and other security measures. However, no system is 100% secure. By using the App, you accept this risk.

9. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer or tamper with the App

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated systems

  • Use the App in a way that may damage, disable, or impair any server or network
     

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App for violating these Terms or any applicable laws. You may stop using the App at any time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TernaID and its affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Loss of access due to key loss

  • Data corruption or system failure


Our total liability shall not exceed the lesser of $100 or the amount you paid(if any) to use the App.
 

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any legal actions must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, USA.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
